A message from the Club President of the Rotary Club of George Town
Welcome to the Rotary Club of George Town Tasmania.
We are a small but vibrant club with 29 members plus friends of Rotary. Our members are from a range of professions and backgrounds and from all different age groups.
Our recent projects have included a fund raising history river cruise for Rotarians Against Malaria, supporting South 32 Open Day, supplying equipment for our local SES and Fire Service amongst other things. This coming year we are trying to engage with our community build a self guided walking tour of our town showcasing the history of our town and region and this will be done in partnership with other community groups, local and federal governments. Given the size of the project it will take a number of years to complete.
We raise our funds through providing lunch for Targa competitors and our annual event Wings and Things which this coming year we hope to have as a two day event by holding a family picnic night on the Saturday with entertainment provide by local students and others. We also do catering for other groups to raise funds and last year we catered for the ANZC Dawn Service with all money raised going to the local RSL.
If you are in our area why not drop in on our meeting we would love to see you.
In Rotary Service,
President Craig Stringer
